Need opinions.

So, Rommel needs some wall art for behind his couch. Of the thousands of art pieces I have looked at, this one of horses seems like the one he would like the most.

Now I need to decide how to get it framed to flatter his living room and to integrate some sort of color scheme into the room.

His walls are normal apartment color. The couch is a light toffee color. The frame of the couch, which does not show, is dark cherry brown or black.

1. My first choice is the upper left hand painting with the dark brown frame and the russet color matting. This painting would make it easy to integrate warm brownish reds and darker browns into the living room.

2. I thought I would try the basic black in the upper right hand corner. This is not inspiring, but is an easy color to get for a guy.

3. Now, in the lower left corner, is a very green interpretation of the painting. I created this one on a whim and kinda liked the effect. I already know of some throw pillows to add to the couch that would balance out shades of greens, browns, and tan. Seems really dull though.

4. The last painting, I just put there to make an equal amount of choices.

Anyway, I am actually NOT trying to redecorate his house. I honestly do think he will like the artwork for his living room based on him saying so. I just want to make sure it aids further decoration for him if the occasion arises.

That being said, i would like to know which one people think looks best.

Esp. August 5th because that was the day we missed our flight and got stranded in Paris for a week.
All of December!

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
--Completing my first year as a teacher

9. What was your biggest failure?
--Not speaking up for myself

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Hmm, does getting stung by a bee for the first time count??

11. What was the best thing you bought?
a new car stereo

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
My new 8th grade class—go Quiet Panthers!

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
My 8th grade students from last year. Sorry, but it’s true.

14. Where did most of your money go?
Going to France and getting stuck in Paris.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Going to France. Relationship with Rommel.

16. What song will always remind you of 2008?
Mighty to Save, Love Song, Un Si Grande Miracle, Viens Viens Viens, Be Thou My Vision, In Christ Alone, Made to Love, Sing, Doxology, Un Ami a Doit,

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. happier or sadder? happier.
ii. thinner or fatter? fatter
iii. richer or poorer? poorer

18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
--Ministry, serving, and dancing.

19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Being stuck in Paris

20. How will you be spending Christmas?
I went to my aunt's house(the one with 9 Christmas trees) for Christmas Eve dinner, Christmas breakfast at my parents house, Christmas lunch at my cousin (who just got married and bought a house with her husband), and then Christmas night I went to Rommel’s family in Fairfield for a HUGE family get together. It was nice to be busy for a change.

21. At any point in this past year did you do something that you consider to be completely out of your usual character?
Um, I served food and washed dishes for hundreds of youth in France. Yuck.

22. Did you fall in love in 2008?
Yes

23. How many one-night stands?
As it turns out, none.

24. What was your favourite TV program?
I watch House a lot.

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
um, I un-hate someone cause hating her was a waste of time.

26. What was the best book you read?
Fever 1793. Excellent young adult book about the yellow fever epidemic in Philadelphia when it was the first United States capital.

27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Chris Tomlin? James Otto?

28. What did you want and get?
A non-ordinary and unboring summer
Relationship

29. What did you want and not get?
Space heater.

30. What was your favorite film of this year?
Not a big movie watcher. I think I saw two movies in the theatre: Four Christmases and Fool’s Gold. Both funny, but not stellar or profound.

31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
On the day I turned 25, I had an hour long meeting with the angry mother of my worst behaved student. Luckily the principal was there to back me up because she would have eaten me alive. Then, instead of teaching, I made it a movie and bagel day and watched The Three Musketeers with my students and crocheted a blanket. Finally, at night, I had dinner at California Pizza Kitchen with a bunch of friends.

32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
More dance

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2008?
Let’s see, at work I still dress businesslike. At home I wear pajamas and sweatshirts, and when I was France I wore the same clothes over and over and over again. I just love despise hand washing my own underwear.

34. What kept you sane?
Sleep. My mom. My boss. Reading Harry Potter while crocheting.

35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
NONE. Although, I am very pleased that we elected our first black president

36. What political issue stirred you the most?
Replacing Bush. Prop 8 (against, not for).

37. Who did you miss?
While in France, EVERYONE. During November, Rommel and Coco.

38. Who was the best new person you met?
Everybody on my missions trip!!!!! Omg, I love them all!!

39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2008:
Speak up!

40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year:
hmm. no idea.

Link to Christian song EVER!!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7-NOZU2iPA8

HAPPY NEW YEARS!!!!!!!!!!!

i'm home sick and i hate it

i hate having a sub and relinquishing control of my lesson plans!!I just want to do it myself!

so anyway, i have some movies planned for my kids tomorrow so the sub won't have to work too hard.

The 1968 version of Jason and the Argonauts for 7th grade who is studying Ancient Greece

and something about the Revolutionary War for the 8th graders.

It's multicultural month at my school, and my classroom will be all about the Middle East. Each 8th grader will have to do a culture report and poster project on a different mid east country. I did the same project for European countries last year, and they all turned out wonderfully, so I am hoping for the same results this year. Plus, I really think that the middle east is overlooked or misinterpreted, so hopefully the kids will become aware of how diverse the countries are and the richness of their cultures.

I need to go do some errands even though i'm in no condition to drive. But i need to fix things for my class tomorrow.
